A lightweight Windows tray utility that replaces the default stepped mouse-wheel scrolling with smooth, momentum-based motion. It works across desktop applications and has no main window: everything is reached from the tray icon.

PRO unlocks the physics controls (smoothness, sensitivity, acceleration and inertia), the profile presets such as Ultra Glide and Tactile, per-app scroll speeds and per-app exclusions. One licence covers three PCs and all future PRO updates.

Your licence key arrives by email right after payment. Right-click the tray icon, choose Activate PRO, then enter the email you paid with and the key. Activation needs an internet connection. If the email has not arrived after a few minutes, check the junk folder before contacting support.

Most desktop applications that use the standard Windows wheel message, which covers browsers, File Explorer, Office apps and PDF readers. Applications that read raw mouse input themselves, most games among them, keep their own scrolling behaviour.

Games are not the target. Most of them read mouse input directly and ignore Smoothie Scroll entirely. If a game does behave oddly, add it to the exclusion list and it goes back to raw wheel input.

Yes. Open Settings from the tray icon and use the Applications pane to pick a running program or browse for an executable. Excluded apps receive untouched wheel input. Per-app exclusions and per-app speeds are PRO features.

Applications interpret Ctrl+scroll in very different ways, so zoom is a single global setting rather than a per-app one. "Use Native Zoom" is on by default, which leaves Ctrl+scroll completely alone. Turn it off and the smoothing curve is applied to zoom as well.

The installer is not code signed yet. A certificate from a recognised authority costs hundreds of dollars a year, which is hard to justify for a one-person project at this price.

Windows SmartScreen shows that warning for any unsigned installer, so click "More info" and then "Run anyway". Download only from smoothiescroll.com so you know what you are running.

No. There is no telemetry and no analytics in the app. Your settings live in a JSON file under your own AppData folder. The only outbound request is PRO licence activation and re-validation, which sends your email, licence key and a device identifier to the activation server.

The animation runs on one dedicated thread in a small native library, and it only does work while a scroll is actually in flight. Idle cost is effectively nothing and memory use stays in the low tens of megabytes.

The free version ships with one tuned profile. PRO exposes the underlying parameters, so you can set how far a notch travels, how quickly repeated notches build speed, and how long the glide keeps coasting, either globally or per application.

Smoothie Scroll re-checks your licence roughly every 15 days. If the server cannot be reached, PRO keeps working through a grace period of about three weeks, so a short spell offline changes nothing. One licence activates on up to three devices.

To stop it for the current session, right-click the tray icon and choose Exit. Windows immediately goes back to its normal scrolling. To remove it completely, use Installed apps in Windows Settings and uninstall Smoothie Scroll.

Use the contact form. Including your Windows version, the app the problem shows up in and your Smoothie Scroll version, shown at the top of the tray menu, makes it much faster to sort out.
